Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.; died July 17 in Rushdi Mullah, Iraq, of wounds
sustained when his unit was attacked by insurgents using small-arms fire.

SERGEANT Nathan S. Barnes, 23, of American Fork, Utah.
Nathan died while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom on July 17, 2007.
He was assigned to the 4/31st Infantry Regiment, 10th Mtn Div. My
condolences to his family and friends. Christmas in Arlington... Rest easy,
sleep well my brother. Know the line has held, your job is done. Rest
easy, sleep well. Others have taken up where you fell, the line has
held. Peace, peace, and farewell.... Nathan, You Have Not Been
Forgotten.... Polar Bears. Say, Hooah to the others up there with you. Rod.

I have the distinct honor of wearing a Hero Bracelet with the name of Sgt. Nathan S. Barnes
engraved on it.  I have learned much about this young man and what a amazing soldier and
person he is.

Thank you Sgt. Barnes for your sacrifice -- I am one grateful American who will never forget
you.  I will proudly wear your Hero Bracelet for the remainder of my days.
