| Cpl. Bryan S. Wilson Otterbein, Indiana United States Marine Corps. |
13 February 2007 Leslie Alexander Thank you for your sacrifice. You will never be forgotten. May your family know your country's gratitude, and may you rest in perfect happiness. Bryan Wilson was a Marine and took the American Indian name Many Wars during a ceremony a few days after he and his wife married in a traditional wedding in 2002. "We're both Cherokee," said his wife, Samantha Wilson. Wilson, 22, of Otterbein, Ind., died Dec. 1 when his Humvee overturned. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton. Samantha Wilson said she and her husband spoke by phone only a few times since he left for Iraq nearly three months ago and she received a couple of letters. "He said it was bad there, but he said he would never have changed his mind about going," she said. "The only thing was, he said he was scared." Wilson's photo hangs in the cafe that Samantha Wilson's parents own in Independence, Ind. "He knew when he graduated that he was going to be a Marine," said Wilson's mother-in-law, Linda Klinger. "He was very brave, and we're so proud of him. He made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us." The couple have a 20-month-old daughter, Breanne.
