Spec. Philip Cody Ford was born July 30,1985 in Freeport, Texas. Known as Cody by all his family and
friends,Cody was a funny,brilliant,caring,full of life young man. He attended Brazosport High School
where he played football,baseball and graduated in 2004. Shortly after graduation Cody enlisted in
the United States Army attending boot camp at Fort Benning, Goergia. While at Fort Benning, Cody
married his high school sweetheart Margi Cardona in April of 2005. Shortly after, Cody was assigned
to Ft Richardson Alaska. He deployed to Iraq as a member of C Co 3rd Btn 509th Paratrooper Infantry
Regimen known as the Geronimos on October 6 2006. Cody was killed on December 10,2006 when
the HUMVEE he was riding in ran over an IED in Baghdad. Visitation and funeral services were held
for Cody on December 21 and 22 2006 at Family Life Church in Lake Jackson Texas. Cody is buried in
Gulf Prairie Cemetary in Jones Creek Texas alongside members of his family. He is survived by his
wife ,father,mother,brothers,sisters,neices,nephews,and a host of extended family and friends.
Cody is loved and missed by all who knew him.

Ms. Crane & Mrs. Martin's 4th Grade Class
I am so sorry for what happened to Spc. Ford. I learned about him in class today. We learned that
he loved the same sports that I like. It really hurt me and I know it must really hurt you too. He will
be missed a whole lot. I will never forget him.
