Sgt. Alex R. Jimenez
United States Army
KIA 12 May 2007
LAWRENCE (WBZ) ― The father of an Army sergeant who has been missing for more than a year in
Iraq said Thursday that his son's body has been found there.

Sgt. Alex Jimenez was one of three members of the 2nd Brigade of the 10th Mountain Division
kidnapped during an ambush in May 2007. His father, Andy Jimenez of Lawrence, said uniformed
military officials came to his home Thursday to tell him the body had been discovered.

"The wait time was a way of God to prepare us for the sorrow we are feeling," Andy Jimenez told
WBZ's Jim Smith late Thursday night.

"We are very proud, because this is what Alex wanted to do -- be a soldier."

In Honor Of SGT Alex Jimenez
God Bless you Jimenez. We will see sometime soon again. We met in Korea and since then
we linked up many time to go out to party outside Camp Casey base.
I will never forget how a good of a soldier and friend you were. I remember well those good
times we spent together at the clubs in Korea or even the times we spent in the field. I am
very sorry for you and your family that you had to leave this way, but in the end is a soldier
way of life. We were both INFANTRY men and we only know what this means to us. You
were a brave and smart soldier who gave your life for a good cause. I love you my brother
in arms and good friend.
GOD Bless you and your family

I did not know you but i think of you often as one of my heroes. My husband is now a part
of the 10th Mtn. Div and was part of the intelligence team looking for you. I think of your
family and friends daily. Every time i get to talk to my husband who's still in Iraq and know
he's safe i am grateful. Thank you for your sacrifice. I will always remember your family in
prayer.
