In Honor Of SFC Matthew Ryan Kahler

SFC Matthew Ryan Kahler, 29, of Granite Falls,
Minnesota. Kahler died in Forward Operating Base Fenty, Afghanistan, of
injuries sustained from small arms fire in Waygul, Afghanistan. Possible
friendly fire. Afghan guard (ally) possibly mistook soldier as an enemy
combatant and engaged with small arms fire. Incident is under
investigation. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment
(Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy. "Rock Force"  
Christmas in Arlington... Rest easy, sleep well my brothers. Know the
line has held, your job is done. Rest easy, sleep well. Others have
taken up where you fell, the line has held. Peace, peace, and
farewell..... Matthew, You Will Not Be Forgotten...

My Protege....My Friend......My Little Brother.  I
never believed that I would be doing this.  I always figured that this
would be done the other way around. You will be missed dearly.  The advise
that I gave you on how to deal with the loss of a comrade I am grasping
to as tightly as possible............but I am not sure it is going to
work with you.  I miss you!
