| Tributes Memorial Page Established by- Melanie In Honor Of Braden J. Long Spc Braden Long was born Aug 7, 1987 in Grand Prairie,TX. He is the son of Melanie Thrasher and William Long III and Stepson of Bobby Thrasher. He signed up in his senior year of high school.He was sworn into the Army on Oct 2,2004. He left for Basic training on June 28, 2005.He did his basic training at Fort Knox, KY. He left for his first duty station Ft. Riley in Nov 2005. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan. He was deployed to Iraq Feb 8, 2007 August 22, 2008 SSG Robles, Cesar A. Long, brother what can I say that by now you would have became a Sargeant. I know because with you; there was nothing stoping your career. I want you to know that your death was not in vain but a blessing to the Iraqi people, and especially the people in Dora. I want you to know that we pray for your family and wife. We love you and remember your "funnies" all the time. Especially your Harry Poter impression. We love you, and carry you in our hearts always. ALthough it hurts, I know that God needed another great leader to lead his troops in heaven. I have two sons both older than Braden when he gave his life for this great nation.
