DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation
Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. 1st Class Jonathan A. Lowery, 38, of Houlton, Maine, died Dec. 14, in Mosul, Iraq, of wounds
sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 3rd
Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, III Corps, Fort Hood, Texas.

| Tributes Memorial Page Established By Marcy Hart, Sean Lowery, Dawson Lowery In Honor Of SFC Jonathan A. Lowery SFC Jonathan A. Lowery grew up in Houlton, Maine. He was in the Maine National Guard and went active duty during the start of Desert Storm. He served in Desert Storm and then was stationed in Germany. He was later stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He has two sons Sean and Dawson. He had been deployed to Kosovo and this was his 2nd time to be deployed to Iraq. He was a wonderful man and would have done anything for his soldiers. He loved them like his brothers. His passion was the military and he did it very well. He gave his all every time that he got a chance. He made many sacrifices in his life to defend the freedom of others. He was a loving and caring dad for his sons. They love him more than words can say. He always supported and cared for them in every way that he could just as he did his soldiers. Jon would give anyone the shirt off of his back if they needed it. He shared anything that he had with other soldiers. He always worried about! others first and himself last. He was an honorable man and his friends and family are very proud of him and his service and sacrifice. He will never be forgotten by those who love him so dearly. Sean and Dawson want their dad to know that they love him and miss him very much. They want him to know that even though their hearts are broken they will grow up and use the things he taught them to make him proud.
