June 05, 2010 Sgt Tyree Brown To My Good Friend... Hey Messer, how are things up there? I know your looking down on us smilling. I remember when you got to Germany. Just another new guy... but you became one of my best friends. The best driver around. When we were in iraq together and i had a personal loss, you were one of the first to lend a shoulder to cry on and i will never forget that. I still have one of the CD's that you let me borrow. Sorry that i never gave it back. I would give anything to put it in your hands and give you a hug. My last memory of you was driving with Walker to the airport to drop me off for the last time. That was a fun trip. playing "The D" and joking and laughing the whole way. I now wear a wrist band with your picture and name. Johnson made it for us. I'm with LAPD now, but you know that. Kevin is a drill Sgt and Walker is out and back in Packer country. I dont talk to your old room mate too much. He stole my nickname on facebook, but i guess your could picture that from Strand... I have a son now, Anthony. I wanted to name him Christoper, but my wife shot me down. I would like to send my sorrys to your wife and little girl. I remember when you had her, never saw you soo happy... Well, i have to go. The City of Angeles wont police its self. love you and always think about you. You are a part of me and will always have a place in my heart. Former Sgt Tyree Brown Bco 1/26 INF 2nd Plt Roughnecks July 31, 2008 Lara Helsel Christopher...I knew you a very short time...yet I know what a great person you were. Besides giving yourself to your country and the defense of it...you were also giving of yourself to others you barely knew. I enjoyed writing to you and getting to know you. I think of you and your lovely wife and family all the time. I keep your picture on my refrigerator to remind me of you and the sacrifice you made for me, my family and this country! I will remember you always! You are a true hero to me! |
