| Tributes Memorial Page Established by- Bethany Staats In Honor of SSG David R Staats SSG David Roger Lee Staats was called home on December 16,2006 when he was killed in Iraq. David was born in Norfolk,VA on August 22,1976.He graduated from Cactus High school in 1995 and went right into the Army.David was a soldier and died doing what he loved to do.He is survived by his 8 year old son Tyler, his parents Wanda and Roger,his sister Bethany and his niece Hayley all reside in Arizona. David was a free spirit and always did just what he wanted to do. He had this smile that could light up a room and he still does. He was a father to Tyler the best way he new how,but we all knew he was a soldier first. He died just how he wanted to,a Hero. David is now in heaven to keep us safe and was joined by his father RET TECH SGT Roger R Staats who also died a hero on January 28, 2007. Roger was beaten to death when he stopped to help a young couple that was fighting on the side of the road. They are in our hearts for ever.
