KILE GRANT WEST was born July 12, 1983 in Pasadena, TX. 1st Lt. Kile Grant West was killed in combat action in Abu Sayda, Iraq on Memorial Day, May 28, 2007 while serving his country attempting to rescue the flight crew of a downed aircraft. Through his heroic actions of that day, Kile will be awarded The Army Bronze Star for Heroism and The Purple Heart. Kile is preceded in death by grandparents Elizabeth and Wendell Guinn and grandfather Bud West; Uncle Greg West. He is survived by his mother Nanette West and companion Rodney Carr, his father Grady West and wife Melissa, sisters Kelli and Kara West, and brother, Carter West. He is also survived by Grandparents Marlene and Dean Schwartz and Edith West ; Aunts Kelli Peveto, Kristi Davis, Mary West, Sharon Hovendick, and Lanita Bristowe, Uncles Dean Schwartz II, Gary and David West, many nieces and nephews and a host of many close friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday June 9th, 2007 at LifeWay Fellowship, 401 E. Elms Rd. Killeen, TX 76 with Pastor Jimmie Towers presiding , with internment at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, TX 76542 (254) 616-1770. Family has made arrangements for a memorial services to celebrate Kile's life. The Houston Area memorial service will be held 7 PM Thursday June 14th , 2007 at South Main Baptist Church 4300 E.
