SPC Doonewey White

MILPITAS, Calif. — 26-year-old soldier from Milpitas died in Iraq
when an improvised explosive device exploded near his vehicle.
Army Spc. Doonewey White died May 29 in Balad, about 50 miles north of
Baghdad, from wounds suffered the previous day, the Pentagon said in a
statement June 4.
White’s family members said it was always his goal to serve in the

You are missed so much by me! I remember waking up and reading the article of your passing in the
San Jose Mercury News and just being heartbroken! I saved that paper and whenever I look at it my
respect and admiration for you swells up in mky heart to a level that brings me to tears. I wish I could
just share one more laugh, or one more hug with ya, but I am sure we will meet again in GOD'S
KINGDOM. I am sorry we lost touch over those last couple years, but I will never forget your
heartwarming smile or your laughter. You are a true American hero and I just wanted to let you know
that I love you bro. REST IN PEACE!
