Our Fallen Soldier has seen a gradual increase in web traffic over the past few months. We
are steadily getting memorial page requests each day.... and are saddened, yet honored to
fulfill those requests. People are using the website as their main source for casualty
information.
We are continuing to provide assistance as it is needed to fallen soldiers families through
generous supporters!
Recently, we were able to assist a mother that was provided "Travel and Hotel"
accommodations by the military to get to another state to lay her son to rest in a National
cemetery.... but did not have the financial means to take care of basic needs during her
travels. We were honored to help assist her with a few minor costs.
Also, just this past weekend we were able to assist 35 children from Fort Hood Texas Army
Base attend a "Grievance Camp". All the children in attendance had suffered the lose of either
their mother or father during recent months. This camp allows them to be with other children
that share similar circumstances, get some much needed counseling while in a fun and loving
camp environment. We were very honored to be able to extend our hand to these children
and get them to camp.
As this war continues we are realizing the needs of our military families are greater than we
ever imagined. Many of the soldiers we meet with and talk to are feeling the stress of multiple
deployments, some of those deployments lasting 15 months at a time. A record number of
soldiers are coming home with significant injuries that require extensive surgeries and
rehabilitation. We are also seeing a huge rise in the need for mental health services for the
soldiers that are coming home. Months and months of deployment is taking a toll on these
young men and women. We are learning that despite peoples personal views on this war....
there is a real need for support to these soldiers and their families long after their
deployments are over.
We thank our supporter for allowing us to be able to continue to provide assistance when
needed.
